The 2008-08 Buffalo Bulls basketball season.
Unable to string together consecutive stops, the Bulls suffered an 84-73 loss at Wichita State to a Shockers squad that could very well challenge for The Valley championship next season. Considering that Buffalo could very well challenge for the MAC championship, the youthful Shockers convincing victory says [...]

UB Bulls Beat: And That Concludes…
March-fucking-Madness
After watching Morehead State upset the OVC’s top seed Tennesse-Martin, 63-55, I flipped back to Fox Sports Midwest to see what was up with The Valley quarterfinal scrap between Creighton and Wichita State. When I last looked at the Bluejays vs Shockers, Creighton was up by 20 points. Somehow, someway, Wichita State had [...]
Daily Fix: Not Ready For Primetime in The Valley
After Drake’s surprising sprint to The Valley championship and regular spot in the Top 25 last season, the temptation was to look for another dark horse squad to make a Drake-like run and take the traditional Valley powers like Creighton and Southern Illinois by surprise. With the Salukis struggling — Ken Pomeroy ranks them [...]
How High Has The Bar Gotten For The Missouri Valley Conference?
So far that even though there are three Valley teams — Drake (22-3, RPI 11), Illinois State (19-8, RPI 41), Southern Illinois (16-12, RPI 49) in the RPI Top 50 according to Ken Pomeroy and another — Creighton (18-8, RPI 51) — a spot outside the Top 50, the talking heads are still saying [...]
Color Me Impressed
All the hype may be about tonight’s Tennessee-Memphis game but, for my money, the game of the week was the Drake-Butler clash of mid-major heavyweights. And both sides played like this was a game that their seasons were riding on, even if it wasn’t. This was truly a game played a level that was more Final Four than Bracket Buster Saturday. While Drake’s season was not riding on this game, they had lost two of their last three so this was an immensely important victory for them to halt the mini-skid and give notice that they are for real.
Pick of The Day: Bluejays Fly High In The Valley
I tend not to bet on games involving teams from The Valley because whenever I’ve done so, I usually don’t fare so well. Why that is I’m not really sure but it could have to do with my having bad karma when it comes to The Valley because we talk shit about [...]
Pick of The Day: Sycamores Stand Tall in The Valley
We had to rethink some things after last week’s dubious Pick of The Day, when we stupidly chose a horrendous UC-Riverside squad to somehow stay within 9.5 points of the Cal-State Fullerton Titans, Big West title contenders. To the surprise of nobody but me, the Titans thrashed the Highlanders by 30, 77-47, rendering [...]
Same As It Never Was
Wednesday night’s games showed that the New Year has changed absolutely nothing in the increasingly insane 2007-08 college hoops season.
Take The Valley, Mid-Major darlings the past few years, for instance. Drake, also-rans from Valley season’s past, is 11-1 overall and 2-0 in The Valley after a 61-51 throttling of a Southern Illinois squad [...]
